Terms and Conditions

The following definitions shall apply to these Terms and Conditions;

Gulliver’s/Us/We/Our means the Gulliver’s Theme Park group of companies, Gulliver’s Theme Parks Limited (company no. 06773875), Gulliver’s World Limited (company no. 02090486), Gulliver’s Kingdom Limited (company no. 01415343), Gulliver’s Land Limited (company no. 03326112), and Gulliver's Valley Limited (company no. 09753831), registered offices, Temple Walk, Matlock Bath, Derbyshire, DE4 3PG.

Attraction(s) means any Gulliver’s attraction at any Gulliver’s site and includes the theme parks, Blast Arenas, splash zones, sfear and Land of Lights.

Gulliver’s strives to offer you and your family the safest day out possible, but we can only do this with your help. The following terms and conditions are in place to ensure the safety of all visitors to the Attraction and you are admitted to the Attraction subject to the same and subject also to any operating rules and restrictions applicable to and displayed upon or near any individual elements within the Attraction.

If you do not comply with these terms and conditions or the operating rules additionally applicable to individual elements within the Attractions, you may be removed from the Attraction by Gulliver’s staff, security or police officers, without any right to a refund. This is without prejudice to any claim that we may have against you or arising out of your actions. Whilst inside the Attraction, you must comply with any reasonable instructions given to you by our personnel or any third party instructed on our behalf. Gulliver’s, acting reasonably, reserves the right to vary these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice. By entering the Attraction, you accept that you have a duty to take reasonable steps to ensure your own safety, taking into account any personal medical conditions. All persons in and around the Attraction should behave in a safe manner at all times.

1. Tickets/admissions

1.1 All Attractions are private property and all persons entering the Attractions must pay for admission or hold a valid ticket.

1.2 The sale of tickets/vouchers by anyone other than Gulliver’s is strictly prohibited.

1.3 Only persons authorised by us are permitted to sell or offer for sale any items to guests within the Attraction grounds.

1.4 All tickets are non-transferable, not for resale and will become automatically void upon any transfer for value.

1.5 Tickets purchased are only valid on the date printed on the ticket. Tickets may not be valid for special events or concerts which may attract a separate admission fee.

1.6 Tickets will only be exchanged or refunded if Gulliver’s, in its absolute discretion, chooses to do so. For the avoidance of any doubt, pre-booked tickets are non-refundable in the event that admission is refused or relinquished upon breach of these terms and conditions.

1.7 Non-dated tickets booked in advance do not guarantee admission to the Attraction, especially during busy times or on specific days when there are special events.

1.8 If tickets are bought on behalf of other guests, the buyer accepts these Terms and conditions on behalf of every guest and shall ensure that these terms and conditions are observed by each person in the group.

1.9 If re-entry into the Attraction is required, an appropriate hand-stamp or ticket must be obtained, before exiting the Attraction which must be shown at the time of re-entry to regain access.

1.10 Tickets must be retained at all times and submitted for inspection if required by Gulliver’s.

1.11 No child or children under the age of 16 will be admitted to the Attraction unless they are accompanied by an adult aged 18 years or over and such child or children whilst on site must remain under the control or supervision of an adult at all times. There is currently no crèche facility at Gulliver’s.

1.12 With the exception of Land of Lights; due to the family nature of Gulliver’s, groups of adults or single adults with no accompanying children will not be permitted onto the Attraction. If you are joining a group who are already in the Attraction grounds please respect our request that, prior to being permitted entry, you should ask the group to meet you at the entrance gates where they can confirm that you are a member of their group.

2. Right to refuse entry to or remove from the Attraction

2.1 Gulliver’s, acting reasonably at all times, reserves the right to refuse admission to any persons felt unsuitable for the Attractions facilities, ban from entry to the Attraction, or remove from the Attraction without any right to a refund any person whose presence or behavior may affect the enjoyment and/or safety of other guests or staff or who: acts in an inappropriate and/or undesirable manner whilst travelling to the Attraction whether by bus, coach or other means, where such behavior has been reported to us by a reliable independent source; has been convicted of a criminal offence relating to Gulliver’s, or civil unrest at Gulliver’s property/attractions, which, in our opinion, is likely to affect the safety and/or enjoyment of other guests or staff; uses violent, aggressive, threatening, abusive, discriminatory or insulting words or behavior or in any way behaves in a manner which may provoke a breach of the peace; climbs or stands upon fences, barriers, walls, safety fences, rock arrangements, ride structures, exhibits or any other buildings at the Attraction; enters or attempts to enter any part of the Attraction which is a restricted or prohibited area as determined by Gulliver’s, including ride areas, workshops and changing rooms.

2.2 Gulliver’s reserves the right to initiate legal proceedings or prosecute any person who: is found damaging or defacing any part of the grounds, fences, barriers, walls, ride structures, exhibits, fabrics or buildings at the Attraction or; has displayed any sign or visible representation of any kind which is, or could be reasonably judged to be, threatening, abusive or insulting or; has previously acted in any manner which has caused any person to report that individual to Gulliver’s or; is attempting to regain admission to the Attraction or has been found inside the Attraction without a valid ticket or; has purchased or obtained any tickets or discount vouchers from an unauthorised source.

2.3 If any guest in breach of any of these terms and conditions is a member of a group, then such group of individuals may also, at Gulliver’s discretion, be denied entry or escorted from the Attraction without any right to a refund.

3. Operating rules/restrictions

3.1 All rides, attractions, amusements, transport systems and any other facilities located at the Attraction must only be used in accordance with the relevant manufacturer’s or operator's instructions which may include restrictions in relation to users’ height, weight and size.

3.2 Guidelines have been prepared which detail the safe use of all of our rides and attractions. Please read all operating rules and regulations before partaking of a ride or attraction and assess the suitability of each attraction for your child’s abilities. We cannot know the individual needs of your child.

3.3 Please ensure that you observe all operating rules and regulations and listen to any instructions given by our operators. Any person found not to be following the guidelines or compromising their own safety or the safety of others will be asked to leave the Attraction.

3.4 Height restrictions are in place for your safety, our operators do not have the authority to over-ride them and height restrictions will not be altered under any circumstances.

4. Alcohol

4.1 Alcohol is not permitted within the Attractions and we reserve the right to confiscate any alcohol brought onto our premises. Persons deemed to be under the influence of alcohol will not be permitted to use rides and attractions and will be asked to leave the Attraction.

5. Smoking

5.1 Smoking (including of e-cigarettes) is strictly prohibited other than in the designated smoking areas within the Attractions.

6. Animals

6.1 With the exception of 'Land of Lights' lantern festival attractions (see land of lights website for dog-friendly-nights information) Pets or animals of any nature are expressly prohibited in the Attraction, except for assistance dogs. Please ensure any assistance dog is identifiable by either;

  • ID tags on the dog’s collar
  • a harness
  • an organisation-specific branded dog jacket or harness
  • a lead slip
  • registered documentation

Should a guest wish to visit the park with an assistance dog which does not have any of the above please contact our hotline before your visit to make us aware.

For the avoidance of doubt, no animals should not be left in any vehicle parked at the Attraction. We reserve the right to contact any relevant authority to make and be responsible for any decision in relation to any animals that are left unsupervised or that are found to be in distress.

7. Swimming

7.1 With the exception of splash zones, neither paddling nor swimming is permitted within an Attraction.

8. Attraction availability

8.1 For your safety, the management reserve the right to suspend or close attractions in inclement weather or for routine and preventative maintenance.

8.2 A daily closing time of all Attractions is detailed at the main gate. In the event of a large queue on an individual ride/attraction within an Attraction, the management will close the queue line prior to the Attraction closing time to ensure that the last ride happens at the daily closing time.

8.3 The Management reserve the right to alter Attractions as may be deemed necessary without prior notice.

8.4 Whilst every effort is made to provide all the rides, attractions and facilities mentioned we cannot guarantee that they will all be available all day, every day. Gulliver’s reserve the right, without prior notice, to close and change the program of rides and attractions and/or the Attraction's operating hours.

8.5 Gulliver’s in its absolute discretion reserves the right to close the whole or any part of the Attraction at any time or to restrict the number of persons having access to the Attraction. The reason for any closure or restriction provided by this condition may include technical or operational reasons, capacity, inclement weather, special events or to ensure the safety and security of guests or if Gulliver’s reasonably considers the circumstances so require. If the whole Attraction is closed for any of the reasons set out above, we reserve the right to offer substitute tickets for admission to the Attraction on an alternative date in substitution for any other form of redress.

9. Comments and complaints

9.1 If you have any suggestions, or if you encounter any problems during your visit, please visit Guest Relations or notify a member of our management team whilst you remain at the Attraction. Problems can more likely be resolved on the day of your visit rather than after you have left the Attraction.

9.2 If you wish to raise a complaint after you have left the Attraction and no complaint was made during your visit, we will require proof of your attendance before we are able to deal with your complaint.

10. Photographs and filming

10.1 It is not unusual to have photographers and film crews recording at the Attractions or at the Gulliver's campsite and hotel accommodations. By accepting these terms and conditions of entry, ticket holders consent to being photographed, filmed or taped by Gulliver's or by third parties appointed by them. Gulliver's and any authorised party may use such images in perpetuity in any promotional, advertising or publicity material in any format whatsoever. You further agree that copyright in these materials rests with Gulliver’s or such authorised party (as the case may be).

10.2 Unless it is expressly prohibited (such as in Splash Zone), you are permitted to take photographs and recordings within the Attraction provided that these are solely for private use and are not sold or used for any commercial or public purpose.

10.3 You are prohibited from taking photographs and/or recordings whilst on any ride and/or attraction. Please note that harnessed or fixed cameras, including, but not limited to, GoPro or similar brands, are not allowed on any ride and/or attraction in any circumstances.

10.4 By accepting these terms and conditions, you acknowledge that Gulliver’s may on demand have access to photographs taken and video footage captured by you and request that certain photographs and/or footage are deleted if they are deemed to be offensive to or infringe the privacy of other guests and/or staff.

10.5 By accepting these terms and conditions, you agree not to intentionally photograph and/or capture video footage of any individual without that person’s permission and you must adhere to all photography/filming restrictions in place from time to time whilst within the Attraction.

11. Your responsibilities

11.1 Your dress & appearance must be suitable for a family attraction you must wear appropriate clothing (which, with the exception of splash zones, includes a top and closed toe shoes) at all times whilst at the Attraction. If you are wearing clothing that is indecent or likely to cause offence in any way, you will be refused entry or removed from the Attraction.

11.2 Please walk with care using the handrails where provided

11.3 Please ensure that you read all safety signs displayed within the Attraction.

11.4 Children under the age of 16 years must be supervised by a competent adult at all times.

11.5 Threatening behaviour, verbal abuse or violence will not be tolerated on the site. Persons exhibiting as such will be asked to leave the Attraction.

11.6 For health and safety reasons wheelchairs and prams/pushchairs are the only transport device permitted within the Attraction.

12. Our Liability

12.1 Gulliver’s accepts no responsibility for any loss and/or damage suffered by you as a result of any event outside our control (including any distress, inconvenience, anxiety or loss of enjoyment arising from the evacuation of the Attraction). This does not affect your statutory rights.

12.2 Vehicles are parked at the owners’ risk. We take no responsibility for damage caused to any vehicle using the car park and no guarantee is given as to the security of guests’ vehicles in the car park or any contents. Motor homes, camper vans, caravans or any other vehicle of a similar nature are not permitted anywhere within the Attraction. No vehicles are permitted to remain in the Attraction outside the Attraction’s normal operating hours.

13. Security

13.1 To prevent offensive weapons or dangerous articles from being brought into the Attraction, you are admitted to the Attraction subject to the condition that, if requested to do so, you will allow yourself and/or your belongings to be searched.

13.2 It is prohibited to bring into the Attraction any weapons, fireworks, sparklers, smoke bombs, glass bottles or other articles which may cause injury. The throwing of any article which could cause injury or affect the enjoyment of other guests is strictly prohibited. Any person found to be in possession of an article deemed to be offensive or dangerous will be immediately escorted from the Attraction without any right to a refund and we reserve the right to make reports to the relevant authorities which may lead to prosecution.

13.3 The use of illegal substances is strictly prohibited and any persons found possessing, using or who appear to be under the influence of illegal substances will be refused admission or escorted from the Attraction without any right to a refund.

13.4 CCTV cameras are used to assist in the proper running of the Attraction. However, we do not make any representation as to the extent of coverage provided by the cameras. All items, belongings and other property brought into the Attraction by you are at your own risk and we accept no liability for any loss or damage to such property. As such, we recommend that you do not bring valuables to the Attraction.

14. Snow Policy

14.1 In the event of snow we will grit all our paths and key areas around rides to ensure that you can move around the Attraction safely. With most of our special Christmas activities being undercover they are not affected by the weather.

14.2 In the rare event of snow being too deep for us to open the Attraction safely we will give you the choice of moving your booking to another date (tickets to the value of your original booking) or provide a full refund.

14.3 If you cannot travel to the Attraction because of heavy snowfall then simply email us at hotline@gulliversfun.co.uk before 11.00am on the day of your booking. Please include your booking reference, this begins with BK. One of our team will then contact you and attempt to transfer your booking. Please note that in the event of severe weather, our phonelines and social media platforms are likely to be extremely busy, so please be patient and a team member will respond to your email as soon as possible.

14.4 If we are unable to move your booking because of limited availability, you will be offered a ticket for each person in the party valid for the opening weekend of the next season. The Attractions will be in summer operation not Christmas operation at this point, so please be aware that the special Christmas activities will not be running and we cannot offer any food packages on these dates.

14.5 For all transfers made under the snow policy, a £10 minimum transfer fee will apply. Additional charges may be incurred if you are transferring discounted ticket purchases to premium dates that were not available for booking during sale periods.

14.5 Please note if you do not notify us before 11am on the day of your visit to confirm that you cannot get to us due to snow we will not be able to transfer your booking and no refund will be payable in these circumstances.

14.6 Gulliver’s will not refund tickets if the Attraction is still operational. The offer to transfer is a goodwill gesture and Gulliver’s reserves the right to withdraw this offer to any customer who is rude or abusive to any member of our team.

15. Additional terms relevant to Splash zones only

15.1 The taking of photographs and recordings within this Attraction (with the exception of the party rooms when attending a private party) is strictly prohibited.

15.2 Please note there is a £2 refundable deposit required per wristband for each person going into the water zone.

15.3 To help keep the water to a high standard you are required to shower before entering the water zone

15.4 Visitors using Splash Zone Warrington are not permitted to use the upper storey of the building or the ramp leading to it

15.5 No food or drink should be taken on to the water or into the shower and changing room areas

15.6 Only food purchased from Splash Zone can be consumed on the premises

15.7 No glassware is to be brought into Splash Zone

15.8 Access to the slides is restricted for guests in wheelchairs as a number of steps must be negotiated to get to the top of the slide.

15.9 You must ensure that babies and young children who have not been toilet trained wear swim nappies and babies and young children suffering from diarrhoea are kept off the water

15.10 When on the water, shorts, t-shirts or swim wear should be worn (please ensure clothing is durable for use on the slides as we cannot accept responsibility for damage to costumes (lycra is not recommended)

15.11 No trainers or shoes can be worn on the water, jelly or beach shoes are acceptable however flip flops or any other sandal which is not secured to the foot is not recommended.

15.12 No watches or loose jewellery should be worn on the water

15.13 Adults are welcome to come onto the water but cannot use the slides (Please remember that Splash Zone has been designed for children, so keep a look out for elements of the play equipment that may be lower than you would normally expect).

16. Additional terms relevant to SFEAR only

16.1 The minimum height requirement for this Attraction is 1.2m and each participant between 1.2m and 1.4m will need to be accompanied by a participating adult.

16.2 Sensible clothing and footwear is essential for this Attraction, so no open toe shoes. Trainers or appropriate boots are perfect!

16.3 Any individual wearing open toe shoes will not be permitted to take part.

16.4 Please make sure that loose hair is tied back before taking part.

16.5 All participants will be required to complete a general form of disclaimer. Parents and guardians of participants under the age of 18 years will need to sign a general form of disclaimer on behalf of the participant/s.

17. Additional terms relevant to Blast Arenas only

17.1 There is an age restriction of 6+ years applicable to this Attraction. A child under the age of six years is not permitted to partake in the activities within this Attraction.

17.2 Gulliver’s will use a mean height of 116 cm for a 6 year old child as the standard. Each child entering the Attraction may be measured against this standard via a measuring stick. If a child is 6 years old or more but does not meet the height threshold the child can still partake in the activities subject to the child’s parent or guardian signing a confirmation of the child’s age if requested to do so.
